Guidelines to ensure a safe ride with SureSitter

SureSitter is a platform created by parents, for parents. Having experienced the stress of trying to find suitable childcare for our own children, we wanted to make it our mission to make childcare easily accessible to all in Ireland. Trust and safety are of the utmost importance to us. As parents ourselves we understand how important it is to find the right childminder or babysitter for your family.

We aim to help parents and childminders find each other with the objective to build long-lasting relationships.

These tips below will make your experience with SureSitter absolutely seamless and make sitters and families aware of the security guidelines.

ID Verification

We recommend that both parents and sitters complete the ID verification check.  This important security check enables us to verify that users are who they say they are. Once a user has completed the check there will be a “ID Verified” badge on their profile. SureSitter verifies a caregivers’ identity in real-time when they sign up to SureSitter. We do this by working with the 3rd party providers used by some of the world’s biggest financial institutions and marketplaces like us

Guidelines for Parents:

  • Being honest, transparent and sincere is really important in helping you find the right match. Also, it’s important to be very clear about the requirements of the job. If you want the sitter to do a few basic chores, like make meals or clean, it is better to disclose it in the beginning.
  • Finding the right match can be a time-consuming process. However, in order to observe safety for your children, being patient is the key. As a parent, you will be picky about the sitter. On the other hand, it is also important to trust your instinct. Base your decision of picking the sitter on valid references and prior experiences.
  • Instruct your sitter distinctly regarding house rules, playtime for kids and bedtimes. Do not leave these decisions up to the sitter’s judgment.
  • Be fair with working hours and wages for the sitter. It will motivate the sitter to do better at their job and keep them in a joyful environment.

Guidelines for Sitters:

Before taking up any job, ensure the authenticity of the family. Get all of your queries and doubts cleared upright in the beginning to avoid confusion and misunderstandings.

It is your responsibility to provide a healthy, safe and joyful atmosphere for the children. Be alert and mindful of the surroundings and prioritize the needs of the children.

Sitters must be safe while taking up a job as well. Meeting with the parents a couple of times before starting work will give them an understanding of their personalities and level of compatibility.

Keeping an open dialogue, for both sitters and parents, is extremely important and can avoid petty issues. Also, the comfort level for both the parties involved is to be taken into consideration. If either the sitter or the parent is uncomfortable with going ahead, it’s not worth it.

We hope the above helps you understand how we create trust on SureSitter but if you’ve any further questions please contact us at support@suresitter.com or check out our FAQ page for parents and sitters and our SureSitter Trust and Safety page.
