How do I sign up?

Signing up is really simple.  Click on this linkYou will then receive an email asking you to confirm your account. You must confirm your account before your profile will be live on SureSitter.

You can now login to your dashboard and complete your profile. Completing your profile is really important. This is a parent’s first impression of you so try and provide as much detail as possible. You must upload a photo of yourself. We accept JPEG (.jpg) or GIF (gif) file formats.

Should I complete the ID-check?

The simple answer is yes! We are raising the safety standards by verifying that you are who you say you are. It’s a very simple process and only takes 2 minutes. You can verify your identity using a passport or drivers licence in the My Profile section of your dashboard.

Sitters who complete the check will be highlighted to parents and will appear higher in search results, meaning more job opportunities for you.

Once you complete the check your profile will have the following badge

How do I get a job on SureSitter?

When parents publish their jobs they are posted on to the Jobs Board.  You can search for jobs in your area that will suit your availability and experience.  If you see a job that you are interested in you can select it in the Jobs Board and Apply for the role! The SureSitter Jobs Board lists the most recent job opportunities.

Parents can also search through sitter profiles and can invite you to apply for their job.  If you are invited by a parent you will receive an email that will link you directly to the job. Please ensure that you respond to all requests from parents by either applying for the role or declining the invitation to apply.

You will find all of your job applications and invitations on your dashboard as shown below.

You must be over 18 to join SureSitter.

How do I get paid?

Parents will pay you directly and you keep all the money you earn, we do not take a percentage.

SureSitter does not set the rate that you are paid.  This is agreed directly between the parent and nanny/childminder. We recommend that how and when payments are made are agreed at this stage too.

What information will parents see about me?

Parents will see your first name, profile picture, and your bio. They will also see your Profile video if you upload one. We highly recommend that you do. They will also see any social connections you have in common and any reviews that have been left by other parents that you have worked for.

How will I get notified of job requests?

You will receive notification by email and text message. You can then go to your dashboard to see details of the job and parents before deciding to apply or reject the job.

What if I am no longer looking for a childminding/nanny job?

All you have to do is un-publish your profile.  This means you won’t be matched with jobs or show in parent’s searches.  If you are looking for a job again at a later stage then it’s easy to go back into your account and publish your profile again.

What should I think about when meeting a parent for the first time?

You should consider meeting in a public place for the first time – for both your and the parent’s safety.

Be able to provide references from previous jobs and contact details for referees.

Talk through the parents’ requirements and expectations to make sure you are both on the same page.  It’s better to talk through exactly what both sides expect at the beginning so that you don’t run into issues at a later stage.

How do I close my account?

You can unpublish your profile at any time if you are currently not looking for work. Your profile will not be visible to parents when you unpublish it. You can do this on your Profile Page.

If you wish to permanently close your account you can do so in your account settings page.
