Skin Care for new mums

Our skin is beautiful and we sometimes forget to look after it especially as a new Mum when time is precious. The skin does so much for our bodies including; protecting us from microbes and other harmful elements, permitting the sensations or touch and regulating the body temperature. Aside from its functions, it plays a big role in our appearance, as we know from our recent Handy Tools to Boost Confidence blog that is so important to our everyday lives.

Many of us know to look after our skin but sometimes just let our skincare routine slip.  What you should try to do every day is cleanse, tone and moisturize. If you’re heading out pop a bit of SPF. Check to see if your foundation has SPF in it, as you should always protect your skin from the sun’s harmful rays. Try to exfoliate and moisturize the skin on your face and body, as often as you feel you need, twice a week is a good habit.

Sometimes with being a busy Mum we can forget about our skincare, and so we spoke to Beauty and Skincare business owner and Mum, Laura (Babyboobieblogger )

How do you make time for skincare?

Believe it or not its only in the last year I’ve really started to make more time for my skincare routine. Thanks to the lockdown and joining a health and beauty company, I had time to learn and educate myself on different skincare products and started a full morning and night skincare routine. I don’t even feel like I have to make time anymore as it’s become a part of my daily routine. Better late than never.

The Importance of Hair Care for New Mums

Amidst the sleepless nights and endless baby cuddles, it’s crucial for new mums to prioritize self-care, and that includes taking care of their hair. Postpartum hair changes, such as increased shedding or shifts in texture, are not uncommon due to hormonal fluctuations. Enter SEA+SOLU, a new Irish clean and conscious haircare brand that understands the unique needs of new mums. Their thoughtfully crafted products are designed to nourish and rejuvenate tired locks, offering a blend of clean ingredients that are gentle yet effective. From a sulfate-free shampoo to nutrient-rich conditioner and mask, SEA+SOLU’s range is a testament to their commitment to clean beauty. Shop SEA+SOLU haircare

How important is self-care?

I can’t even begin to describe how important it actually is for me as a mother. Its about trying to find that balance in the chaos of motherhood and having support so you make time for yourself. It took me a few years to realise that but I try to prioritise doing little things for myself that make me feel good and to not feel guilty about it.

Thanks to Laura for her insightful advice! If you can try set five minutes aside in the morning, straight after wake up, and five minutes before bed to complete a simple skincare routine. You’ll feel better and you deserve to look and feel your best!
